Cervical arthritis, also known as cervical spondylosis or neck osteoarthritis, is a common condition that affects the joints, discs, and bones in your neck. Over time, wear and tear on these structures can lead to stiffness, pain, and reduced mobility. It’s a natural part of aging—about 85% of people over 60 experience some degree of it!

The condition occurs as the protective cartilage in the neck’s joints wears down, and the discs between the vertebrae lose hydration, becoming less cushiony. This can lead to bone spurs, inflammation, and in some cases, pressure on nearby nerves or the spinal cord.
Common symptoms include neck pain or stiffness, headaches, and in some cases, tingling or numbness in the arms and hands. While it may sound daunting, many people manage cervical arthritis effectively with exercises, ergonomic changes, and sometimes medical treatments.
Think of it as your neck’s way of reminding you to treat it with care—and we’re here to help you do just that!
